I’m getting a 7-day pass . I’m arriving in Japan Feb 17 and leaving Feb 24. So if I start using the JRpass on the 17th and use it till the 24th, is that counted as 8 days? If so, can I buy an 8-day pass?

Hi there,
Yes, that'd be counted as one day. As each day is counted as a full day.
The JR Pass is available in increments of 7-days, but you could just buy normal tickets for the one day without the pass.
