Konnichiwa,
We are visiting Japan in September, starting in Osaka for 1 night, then travelling to Hiroshima for 2 nights, followed by Kyoto for 3 nights, Kanazawa for 3 nights, and finally Tokyo for a few nights.
Since our itinerary is longer than 7 days, I am wondering whether a 7-day JR Pass would be suitable or if we should consider other alternatives.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Visiting Japan in September 2026
Konnichiwa,
For your specific itinerary, the most cost-effective option is to purchase individual point-to-point tickets. However, if you are looking for the convenience of a regional pass, you could use the Kansai-Hiroshima Area Pass for the first leg of your journey (covering Osaka, Hiroshima, and your arrival in Kyoto) and buy individual tickets for the remaining destinations.
I hope this helps!
Kind Regards,
Mariko
