Travel from Narita to Shinagawa Station

Hi

I am planning to visit Izu Peninsula. Landing at Narita Airport, I wonder if I should:

a) put up at a hotel near Narita, e.g. Mercure Hotel which is near to the JR Narita Station and take a train from there to Shinagawa Station. Is there a direct train to Shinagawa Station and then change another train to get to Ito in Izu Peninsula? I checked Hyperdia and there seemed to be no direct train to Shinagawa?

b) put up at Shinagawa as there is a direct train Narita Express to Shinagawa Station. Is it easy to get on to the Narita Express from the Narita Airport Terminal 1?

Thank you.

Hi there,

1.) You will likely have to travel from Shinjuku or Tokyo station to Izu. However you can start at Shinagawa and change along the way at Atami station.

2.) Yes, you can use the Narita Express directly.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Thank you, Daniel-san.

Your advice is much appreciated. According to Mercure Hotel website, it is near to a JR Narita Station. The Narita Express timetable shows that some Narita Express trains in the mornings also stop at both Narita Station and Shinagawa Station. May I know if it refers to the same Narita station? If yes, then I can possibly take the direct Narita Express train from there to Shingawa in order to connect to Atami station?

Thank you.
Deniz

Hi,
Most hotels in Narita have a free airport shuttle. Even the Mercure. Consult the Hotel to see the bus stop.

Good Trip!

Hi again,

It is correct that some Narita Express services stop at JR Narita Station. There is only one such station, other stations are called Narita Airport Terminal 1 and 2.
