The Hyperdia travel website is exactly the kind of resource I needed to plan out my routes and determine cost.

I meant the Nagasawa near Tokyo, but I just found out the friend I was going to visit will be out of town. So that leg of the journey will just be absorbed into more time in Kyoto or a night at Mt. Fuji.
