Choosing the starting date for the JR Pass

Hi there!

There's no problem validating the Japan Rail Pass anytime up to 3 months from the date of purchase. When you validate your Japan Rail Pass you can select a starting date any time within the next 1 month.

Provided you purchase your rail pass before you arrive in Japan, you can validate it on the 24th for use that day or up to 1 month before the 24th for use on the 24th.
