My flight arrive at Narita airport at 4:55 pm. Is it cheaper to book a flight to osaka since i'm already there. Or should I take the bullet train? I checked the price on Skycanner and to fly out from NRT airport for a family of 5 ( 2 adults and 3 children) would only cost me $180 dollar. I'm planning to stay in Kyoto and Osaka for around 11 days then fly out to Taiwan for another 11 days. After Taiwan, I am flying back to Tokyo for a couples days and fly out August 18.

Flight tickets depend on so many factors that it is not easy to make a comparison with rail travel, where fares are basically static.
The cost of a one way ticket Naria Airport - Osaka is around 17,000yen. You can do use that as reference. It does get you into the city while you have to add travel to and from the airport if you fly.
