Should I get a 14 day JR Pass?

Hi, my wife，daughter and I will be heading to Japan at the end of September . I've been trying to do research and have been contemplating whether to purchase the JR rail pass or not.
Below is our itinerary:
Sept 25:：Arrive @ Kansai International Airport
Sept 26-30：TRAVEL within the Kansai area (Osaka, Kyoto)
Oct 1：TRAVEL from Kyoto to Tokyo
Oct 2-6：TRAVEL within the Tokyo area
Oct7-8：Travel from Tokyo to Shimoda on the Izu Peninsula
Oct9 ：Travel from Shimoda to Osaka
Oct 10：Fly out from Kansai International Airport
I was thinking of getting the 14 day JR pass ,but I'm not sure if this is right for me.Is there a better solution?
