Hi there,

For your itinerary, it would be best to use a 7-day Nationwide JR Pass from your last day in Osaka to your departure for Yokohama, as this covers your travel to Hiroshima, Miyajima, Kyoto, and Yokohama. You can use individual tickets for the rest of your journey.

For route searches, I recommend using Navitime, a route search website and app.

To ride the Shinkansen (bullet train), a seat reservation is required. Seat reservations can be made at any JR Train Station ticket office (Midori-no-madoguchi) or ticket machine upon your arrival in Japan.
