JR pass vs individual tickets

Hello -
Two of us are traveling in Oct for 11 days.
Tokyo for 3 days with one day trip to Kamakura.
Bullet train to Hiroshima for 2 days.
Bullet train to Kyoto for 3 days with one day trip to Nara.
Train to Kinosaki for 2 days, then return Tokyo.

I see that the JR Pass works for Hikari but not Nozomi trains.

So like everyone else I am trying to justify a JR Pass vs. individual tickets. I could wait to activate a 7-day pass until traveling to Kyoto from Tokyo on Oct 27 but the last long trip back from Kinosaki to Tokyo would be a day after that pass expires. It doesn't appear that we would get full use from a 14-day pass however.
