Haruka and seat reservation check

Yes, I can confirm the following are covered by the JR Pass:

JR Haruka from Kansai to Osaka
JR Sanyo shinkansen (Hikari and Sakura class bullets) from Shin-Osaka to Hiroshima
JR local lines to Miyajimaguchi
JR Tokaido Shinkansen (Hikari class bullets) from Shin-Osaka to Tokyo.

You can make your reservations for any of your legs at any JR Ticket office during your trip, but in most cases you can simply arrive at the station and reserve before boarding.

To explore "Nozomi" trains we would need to purchase either "JR Sanyo-Shikoku-Kyushu Rail Pass" or "JR West Sanyo Pass". May i check how it is diferent from JR Rail pass? With the above pass can I travel from Hiroshima to Tokyo? Can this pass valid to use "JR Haruka limited express train"?

I also have same kind of plan to arrive "Kansai -- Shin-Osaka -- Hiroshima -- Tokyo -- Kansai".

1) With your best experience can you advice, In December (1 - 15) which Pass is better (Ordinary or Green car)?
2) How will be the crowd during this period?
3) Apart from Ticker counter is there a place online that I can make seat reservation?
