Hi there
We are visiting Tokyo arrive 5/1/18 staying in Shinjuku on the 9/1/18 we need to catch a train from Shinjuku to Kyoto Can you tell me what that costs and how long it takes to get there? Is the bullet train a better optionor stick with a jr pass.
Then on the 12/1/18 we need to leave Kyoto and get to Osaka to catch a plane at 13:55 that day Again can you tell me best train to catch, how long it takes to get there and the cost? Would the hotels be able to reserve our seats on the train for us? Thanks heaps.

Hi there,
For travel times and cost, I recommend learning to plan with Hyperdia this way you can find any route/timetable and more. It's a great tool for planning with the JR Pass. We also have a useful interactive map with all JR lines included.
Seats can be reserved at any ticket window at the station, generally, a hotel would not be able to do this, unless they go with you to the station.
