Hi,
We will be staying in Shinjuku and departing on 8/15 to Hiroshima for the day and then to Osaka (same day). On the 17th we head to Kyoto and back to Ginza on 8/21. Which pass is most cost effective and how do I find the length of each trip? I want to make sure they are the shortest routes as well.

Hi there,
A 7-day JR Pass is likely to be your best option. To find your most ideal routes, I’d suggest using the Navitime website’s Route Section where you can then check the ‘Japan Rail Pass’ option to see how to get from A to B using the Pass. It will give multiple options so you can decide which works best for you.
