Shirakawa-go isn't directly accessible by train, and so it would be easiest for you to purchase a bus ticket from Kanazawa Station. If your trip is around 6-8 days, I would therefore recommend purchasing the Hokuriku Arch Pass as it would cover all of your train journeys.

Tourist Pass or just buy the alpine route manually without a pass ?
