I am travelling to Japan for 5 days between 9th December to 14th December. I am considering purchase JR pass but I have few question:
Arriving at Narita airport, Could i use the JR pass to get Tokyo from the airport or I have to purchase a different ticket to get there?
Is the JR pass the cheapest option to move fast around Tokyo city - Kyoto - Osaka and Kobe?

Here are some answers for you:
Yes. with the JR Pass you can travel freely on the Narita Express (aka N'EX) between Narita airport and many stations in Tokyo, including Tokyo station, Shinjuku, Shinagawa and Yokohama.
Within Tokyo, you can use the JR Pass on all the JR lines within the city. There is also a great non-JR metro service within Tokyo. If you want to use this extensively I recommend you purchase 1 or 2 day discounted metro passes available only at Narita Airport. Within Kyoto, Osaka and Kobe, while there are limited JR services you'll find yourself using the non-JR metropolitan subway or buses for travel the most. You can purchase individual tickets as needed, or can purchase day passes. Here is some more on the travel card/day pass options for [Osaka], Kyoto and Kobe.
