Your site indicates “The Tokaido Shinkansen is not included, this means that travelers who wish to make a return between Tokyo - Osaka/Kyoto have to travel both ways via the Hokuriku Arch, this adds a significant amount of extra travel time.”

How much extra time are we looking at each way between Tokyo and Osaka return trip?

Kindly also confirm that this pass covers multiple rides round trip between Osaka and Kyoto.

Hi there,

It depends on a variety of factors such as train service taken, connection time at Kanazawa (or elsewhere) and so on. Expect to add at least 2 hours of travel time in each direction, however.

Both the regional pass and JR Pass are good for unlimited travel.
