Hi! We will be flying into Tokyo and staying 4 nights. Will be training around Tokyo and will train to Fuji safari park and Disney. Need to train to Osaka (need first class train). Staying 4 nights. Will train around that area including Nara and Kyoto and then return to Tokyo (must be first class train). Is it cheaper to buy a round trip first class train from Tokyo to Osaka and back and then use suicca to pay for other training or is the 7 day jr pass the best way to go?

Since we will be training back and forth from Tokyo to Osaka with luggage, how do we do that? Does your luggage go
With u at your seat? It will be big suitcases that can’t fit in an overhead bin. We will be in green car.

Hello there,

It would be cheaper to buy normal tickets, if your main distance travel is only between Tokyo and Osaka.

There's a luggage area in the overhead compartments, this is bigger than on planes. If you need a full size suitcase, then you can make a reservation for these, as there are special compartments at the front or end of each train car. This is typically free, but in some cases a fee up to 1.000 yen can apply for luggage reservations.

Thank you so much Daniel. I can’t seem to find pricing for the green car nozomi from Tokyo to Osaka. Can you point me in the right direction please.

Hi there,

A one way Tokyo - Osaka in the Green Class is about 20.000yen.

A normal ticket is 14.000 to 15.000yen.
