Hi again,

As my 7 days pass would have run out by the end of my hike, I would like advice on the above route .

is there a regional JR pass to buy on line for these destinations.

Hi there,

Yes, I would recommend looking at a Tokyo Wide Pass - it would cover most of your travel here.

Thank you.
Have looked at the pass, it does not include Matsumoto? It does include airports and Nikko.
so is there another pass for this part ?

Hi again,

It covers about 2/3rd of the way to Matsumoto. You could just pay the difference upon arrival, which is about 1.000yen when using local trains.
