JR Pass for 21 days or other choices?

Hi there,

Whether you should purchase a JR Pass or not depends on your itinerary and its timeframe. The main thing to consider is whether you'll be using the Shinkansen trains a lot or not - once you have decided on an itinerary, you can use our Fare calculator to see whether the JR Pass will be worth it. Please note that this needs to be done quickly to ensure that you receive your JR Pass exchange order in the mail.

Hi Alexis thank you for the response..

I've finally made the request and received JP order confirmation #2637633 which gave me a tracking number . Now the good news is that it is on its way.. The bad news is that the delivery date to my hotel in Fidji is too late March 21st and I'll be leaving on March 18th. I've sent an email to tnt fiji which should receive the exchange voucher and deliver it to my hotel. Is there someone at JRPASS that can ask fedex to expedite this? So far the package has already left the Fedex hub at Paris CDG airport . Regards Peter65

Essentially I'm ok now I've been able to pick up my JR pass at the fedex warehouse in Nadi.So I have in possession my original JR pass. I understand there was another pass sent to my hotel in Japan as a plan B option. I will activate my original JR pass at the airport during the meet and greet session. Let me know if there are any instructions you want me to follow for the second pass sent to my hotel in Japan.

Hi Peter,

Once you have both your pass vouchers, we would ask that you tear up one and send us a picture. This is just to make sure only one set of passes was used.

Please reply directly to our support e-mail with the picture. Feel free to do this once your pass is active and you have settled down in your hotel.
