How can I travel from Matsumoto to monkey park and how much extra an JR pass holder have to pay extra?
In case that I have to take a bus, does the pass cover? I planned to travel this route on Dec 5.

Hi there,
From Matsumoto, travel to JR Nagano station. From there take the non-JR Nagano Dentetsu train to Yudanaka. From Yudanaka, take a bus to Kanbayashi Onsen. On arrival, it's about a 30 min walk to the Jigokudani Yaen-koen entrance.
Note that the JR Pass doesn't cover travel from JR Nagano onwards. I recommend you take a look at this great guide for more information on Jigokudani and the surrounding area.
