Travelling in Japan for 3 months

Nice plans! Not everyone gets the chance to stay in Japan for 3 months!
If your only long distance travel spread over those 3 months is Kyushu --> Chubu --> Tokyo, then you may be better of buying separate tickets for the train. The Seishun Kippu is a great option too, if you travel during one of the periods that it is valid. Alternatively if you want to travel on a budget and have time Night Buses are an option as well!

Hi Irene,

It is valid in the following periods:
Spring break (March 1 - Apr. 10)
Summer break (July 20 - Sept. 10)
Winter break (Dec. 10 - Jan. 10)

So possible you could use it at the beginning of your travels.
Otherwise hitch hiking can be a great way to get around, some of my friends had some really positive experiences doing it and there are many blogs about it online as well!
