Advise needed - Tokyo - Yokohama - Nagoya - Kanazawa - Karuizawa - Tokyo

Hi Daniel,

I plan to travel for 12 days 11 nights and this is my planned itinerary
Day 1 : Tokyo
Day 2 : Tokyo
Day 3 : Hakone
Day 4 : Yokohama
Day 5 : Nagoya
Day 6 : Nagoya
Day 7 : Nagoya
Day 8 : Kanazawa
Day 9 : Kanazawa
Day 10 : Karuizawa
Day 11 : Karuizawa
Day 12 : Narita, Tokyo
Should I take 7 days or 14 days JR pass or do you have another alternative solution if I want to take 7 days JR Pass ?

Hi there,

I checked your itinerary and here are the main ticket costs:

Kanazawa - ¥ 10,430
Nagoya - Kanazawa: ¥ 8,160
Kanazawa - Karuizawa: ¥ 11,650

For a total of ¥ 30,240, very similar in price to a 7-day JR Pass (¥ 29,650). You could also add travel to Odawara (Day 3) for Hakone with it and then it would make sense to get. A 14-day pass would not be cost effective for your trip.
