Is a two-week JR Pass worth it for my trip?

Hi -- I'm hoping for some guidance about whether a two-week JR Pass is likely to be worth it for my upcoming trip in April. Here is my itinerary:

Tokyo (6 nights), including one or two day trips, possibly to Hakone and to see Mt. Fuji
Kanazawa (1 night)
Shirakawa-go (2 nights)
Takayama (1 night)
Kyoto (6 nights), with 2-3 day trips to Osaka and Nara
Miyajima (1 night)
Hiroshima (1 night)

At that point, I'll travel to Shikoku (Tokushima) for a 6-day walk among temples and wilderness before returning to Tokyo for one final day before flying home.

So, does it seem like a two-week pass would be worth it for me? And if so, would you recommend getting it immediately upon arrival (which would leave me paying for individual tickets during the back half of my travels through Kyoto, Miyajima, and Hiroshima), or toward the end of my stay in Tokyo, so that I have it all the way through to my arrival in Shikoku?

For your trip, I recommend the following options:

  1. The Nationwide 14-day JR Pass and individual tickets: This option is ideal if you plan to travel extensively throughout Japan, including multiple long-distance journeys.
    OR
  2. The Osaka-Tokyo Hokuriku Arch Pass, the Setouchi Area Pass, and individual tickets: This combination is suitable if your itinerary focuses on specific regions. The Osaka-Tokyo Hokuriku Arch Pass covers a wide area, including the Hokuriku region and parts of the Kansai, including Kyoto. The Setouchi Area Pass is perfect for exploring the Seto Inland Sea area and Kyoto as well. Individual tickets would be used for travel outside these regions.
